I am a soon to be stay at home/work from home mom of a son. I have not always loved reading and did in fact struggle with reading in grade school. But thanks to some great teachers, over the years I came to love reading. I have a degree in journalism, and enjoy writing. I often find myself inspired by the written works of authors, who have long masterd the craft. I am especially passionate about childrend's books and feel that reading should be a large part of childhood. I've spent time as a library volunteer, working to get children's books out onto the shelf, so I am familiar with many of today's popular literature for children. Although my son will not be of reading age for many years yet, I feel that reading is a wonderful gift that can teach children to imagine and dream; it is a gift I intend to pass to my son as soon as possible.

My girls and I love to read, but my husband is not much of a reader and the little guy is already proving to not care for "storytime". Great site Mike. Boys and school/reading IS such an adventure!! They certainly are wired differently than girls. I've actually found it easier to teach my boys to read, but harder to get them to really love to read for enjoyment. Best of luck to you. - Michelle
